This painting is based on the picture of Rosie the Riveter, a woman working in the arm industry during WWII. The poster was originally made in 1941 by J. Howard Miller and was supposed to motivate the working women at the time. Later she has become an iconic motive especially for feminist movements.I decided to make a new version of it, featuring Daisy Duck. With this painting I want to emphasize the strength and capability of women which is often abnegated by men. Therefore she is angry, it is 2021 but women are still underestimated and patronized. We need to acknowledge women and their role in modern society!
